Deu 11:26 “See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse—
Deu 11:27 the blessing, if you listen to the mitzvot of Adonai your God that I am giving you today;
Deu 11:28 and the curse, if you don’t listen to the mitzvot of Adonai your God but turn aside from the way I am ordering you today and follow other gods that you have not known.
Let’s start with this to enforce that we can never make our words, His words.
Eze 22:25 There is a conspiracy of prophets in it like a roaring lion tearing up the prey; they have devoured people, seized wealth and valuables, and widowed many in it.
Eze 22:26 Her cohanim have done violence to my Torah, profaned my holy things, made no difference between the holy and the common, not distinguished between unclean and clean, hidden their eyes from my shabbats, and profaned me among themselves.
Eze 22:27 Her leaders in it are like wolves tearing up the prey to shed blood and destroy people, in order to benefit unjustly.
Eze 22:28 Her prophets have “plastered” for them with whitewash, seeing false visions and divining lies for them, saying, “Thus says Adonai Elohim,” when Adonai has not spoken.
Today, as I was reading Deuteronomy 12 in the King James Version, I was stopped in my tracks with a confusion just in reading two verses. As I continued to read, I saw the same wording again. And, I said, “Well if this is true, no wonder my family thinks I’m crazy.” So, I went to e-sword to compare. It did not take much comparison to see what has influenced readers. The word ‘of’ is in italics in Deuteronomy 12:22. Italicized words are words added to The Scripture to help with understanding. But whose understanding are we to be influenced….by those who are anti-Jewish? By those who burned up Torah scrolls. The way to repentance is to expose ‘sin’.
Let us remember the verses that says, ‘Study’ to show ourselves approved workman of the Lord.” Study takes time. It takes comparing. Studying makes you a Berean. If you just read through the Bible to read the Bible, it is an injustice. Iron sharpens iron is Scripture sharpening Scripture.
First, let us start with the verses from the King James where twice ‘unclean’ and ‘clean’ are expressed. So, what is unclean? Is it a person or is it a food?
King James Version
Deu 12:15 Notwithstanding thou mayest kill and eat flesh in all thy gates, whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, according to the blessing of the LORD thy God which he hath given thee: the unclean and the clean may eat thereof, as of the roebuck, and as of the hart.
“whatsoever thy soul lusteth after makes it sound like ‘kosher’ eating is out the door and people can eat whatever they want…clean or unclean food. Is it ‘what’ can be eaten? Or, is it who can eat it?
Complete Jewish Bible
Deu 12:15 However, you may slaughter and eat meat wherever you live and whenever you want, in keeping with the degree to which Adonai your God has blessed you. The unclean and the clean may eat it, as if it were gazelle or deer.
This translation tells us that there are unclean and clean human beings that are told they can eat wherever and whenever. Later we learn that we still must not eat blood.
Most people don’t STUDY, so they read the words quickly and think The King James version is saying that eating something unclean or clean is okay now as Israel crosses over into the Promised Land as they merge with unclean people.
If we do NOT study what makes a person ‘unclean’, The King James version can be confusing. And let us consider that gentiles are called, ‘unclean’ too.
A clean person has not touched the dead. A clean person has not touched a woman’s blood during her day of uncleanness. A clean person has not sat where a woman has sat during her period. Etc. Yes, it is hard to stay clean. We have a very holy God that wants repentance.
Being ‘unclean’ is okay. The lesson is that we are all ‘unclean’ and need to repent. There is only ONE human that is ‘clean’. It is Yeshua Jesus who came from God. “Yet not thinking himself better than God…but humbled himself and put on human flesh…
The next time we see the words ‘unclean’ and ‘clean’ in this chapter is 22.
King James Version
Deu 12:22 Even as the roebuck and the hart is eaten, so thou shalt eat them: the unclean and the clean shall eatof them alike.
This version added in italics the word ‘of’. By adding this word to the verse does a quick-skimming reader comprehend that now unclean and clean foods can be eaten when they come into the Canaanite area called the nations? This would go along with the misunderstanding about Peter who was told to go to the ‘unclean’ people (Gentiles) to take them The Torah. Even pastors have confused this passage to teach people that all food is good to eat.
Peter definitely is seen going to three different people telling them to turn to The Torah…that the Gentile was now grafted into The Messiah via The Torah. The Torah and the salvation via Yeshua Jesus’ blood is for both the Jew and Gentile…the clean and unclean. Yes, Deuteronomy 12 is saying the Jew and Gentile can have the blessings and cursing. Wow! This is powerful. Torah is for all mankind.
Now let’s read the Complete Jewish Bible which understands the culture and is not anti-Jewish as were the people in the King James era.
Deu 12:22 Eat it as you would gazelle or deer; the unclean and clean alike may eat it.
It clearly states that if a person is unclean for some reason or a person is clean, all may eat. It also is stating that Gentile and Hebrew still eat kosher…and no blood.
Kosher animals have a split hoof and chew the cud.
Deu 12:23 Just take care not to eat the blood, for the blood is the life, and you are not to eat the life with the meat.
Yes, we do NOT eat blood. Why would we want an animal’s blood tainting human blood. Yes, our lives are in our blood. This is likened to every seed after its own kinds. It is to stay pure.
Eze 22:26 Her cohanim have done violence to my Torah, profaned my holy things, made no difference between the holy and the common, not distinguished between unclean and clean, hidden their eyes from my shabbats, and profaned me among themselves.
Is there a difference between Jew and Gentile? Yes! Gentiles must come to the Torah. In the Torah, The Messiah is found to be CLEAN.
In God’s Sabbaths CLEAN is seen. Sabbath is holy and set apart as far back as Adam. When we profane the Sabbath, we profane God. Yeshua Jesus honored The Sabbath.
Should Gentiles say unclean? Come out of her idolatrous ways.
Stop violating my words! Lift up Yeshua Jesus who makes us CLEAN.
Revelation 2:4 “But I have this against you: you have lost the love you had at first.
So, what was the first love? Jesus? No, this is not a person….it is an action!
Revelation 2:5 “Therefore, remember where you were before you fell, turn from this sin, and do what you use to do before. Otherwise, I will come to you and remove your menorah from its place – ifyou don’t turn from your sin!
Not obeying Torah is sin. Churches today are having their ‘lights’ removed. Pastors are sick, people are not in church, people are dying. Yes, the Menorah is being put out because the Church does not even know it’s sick. They have turned away from what points to God. They call it OLD…not for the modern world.
They are taking away complete books in the bible…much less adding 7000 italicized words. Yes, they will make sure you understand it their antisemitic way….. We have to repent during these days of Elul…these days of The King is in the Field of our earth to hear our repentance even for the sins of our fathers.
Father, we ask forgiveness for our forefathers and even pastors today for removing the Torah from right before our eyes. When we remove the Torah, we remove The Spirit of God. Without The Holy Spirit no one can be drawn to salvation. We are in a crisis. Let us repent of this.
