Ki Tetze (When you go out) Deuteronomy 21:10-25:19, Isaiah 54:1-10

Deuteronomy is written by Mosch in his last 30 days. These are not words from ADONAI’s mouth. Yeshua Jesus in Mark 3:10 states that because of the hard hearts of man that Moses even suggested ‘a get’ could be used to have a divorce. He states that from the beginning there would be no divorce. THEN the FALL happened. THEN Moses gave in… but not really…The two exceptions meant death. (I think we prefer “in the beginning’ instead.)

  1. It was proven she was not a virgin upon marriage.
  2. Adultery.

Col 3:15  and let the shalom which comes from the Messiah be your heart’s decision-maker, for this is why you were called to be part of a single Body. And be thankful—
Col 3:16  let the Word of the Messiah, in all its richness, live in you, as you teach and counsel each other in all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude to God in your hearts.

WHEN – says that it will happen. There is no question that war will happen.

Enemies are handed over to you – Blesses you with winning your wars.

Prisoners – people remain alive that you now take care of.

IF – means this could be.

Deu 21:10  “When you go out to war against your enemies, and Adonai your God hands them over to you, and you take prisoners,

The look of a woman can be enticing. Therefore, will you still love her without her makeup and happy countenance?

  1. Physical. No hair. No fancy nails or jewley. No pretty clothes. No family. Will you still want to marry this woman when you have experienced her at her worst for 30 days as your community killed her family.
  2. Mental. She will either hate you for killing her family. Or, she becomes thanksful for her own life
  3. Virgin. After 30 days you can verify she is not with another man’s child. You are not to touch her which means ‘ no sex’ with her before marriage. This sexual act is what consumates the covenant of marriage.

Deu 21:11  and you see among the prisoners a woman who looks good to you, and you feel attracted to her and want her as your wife;
Deu 21:12  you are to bring her home to your house, where she will shave her head, cut her fingernails
Deu 21:13  and remove her prison clothing. She will stay there in your house, mourning her father and mother for a full month; after which you may go in to have sexual relations with her and be her husband, and she will be your wife.

God protects women.

These are guidelines from a woman taken in war at The Wilderness time. Moses is making up his own guidelines because of their hardened hearts. Yeshua reminds the Pharisees of this when they try to trick him of not knowing The Torah.

Deu 21:14  In the event that you lose interest in her, you are to let her go wherever she wishes; but you may not sell her for money or treat her like a slave, because you humiliated her.

What is humiliation? This female lost her family. She was taken from her normal surroundings. She has had her head shaved, of which hair to a woman is her glory. She wears and eats what her new community wears and eats. Her body has been used for sex and will now she will be treated as a prostitute, as she has lost her virginity. She is cut off as a used woman. If she had a child, she probably would not be cast off. Children are her glory.

Laws Concerning Sexual Immorality
NO Sex before marriage is confirmed!

“I did not find evidence that she was a virgin’;….”
Deu 22:13  “If a man marries a woman, has sexual relations with her and then, having come to dislike her,
Deu 22:14  brings false charges against her and defames her character by saying, ‘I married this woman, but when I had intercourse with her, I did not find evidence that she was a virgin’;

Where are the VIRGINS?

America today has a $150 billion industry…more than the drug industry…in sex exchange.

We are told by The Church that the Old Testament is not valid for today. Really?

Even Jesus quoted OT Moses to give his opinion on divorce. Jesus chastised the people for forcing Moses to say something that was never said from the beginning. Jesus said to go back to the beginning where a man and woman were to leave their parents and become one flesh for no one ever to separate them.

Evidence of Virginity –
22:15  then the girl’s father and mother are to take the evidence of the girl’s virginity to the leaders of the town at the gate.
Deu 22:16  The girl’s father will say to the leaders, ‘I let my daughter marry this man, but he hates her,
Deu 22:17  so he has brought false charges that he didn’t find evidence of her virginity; yet here is the evidence of my daughter’s virginity’—and they will lay the cloth before the town leaders.
Deu 22:18  The leaders of that town are to take the man, punish him,

This man did NOT bring the ‘second’ witness. In Torah you must have a ‘second’ witness. Yeshua Jesus being crucified never had a ‘second’ witness. Yet, they killed him.

Yeshua Jesus wore a one-piece fabric that would have been stained with His holy blood. He also was wrapped in priestly linen when buried which was found as a witness to his resurrection.

Mat 26:12  She poured this perfume on me to prepare my body for burial.
Mat 27:9  Then what Yirmeyahu the prophet spoke was fulfilled, “And they took the thirty silver coins, which was the price the people of Isra’el had agreed to pay for him,
Mat 27:10  and used them to buy the potter’s field, just as the Lord directed me.”

Deu 22:19  and fine him two-and-a-half pounds of silver shekels ($80,000), which they will give to the girl’s father, because he has publicly defamed a virgin of Isra’el. She will remain his wife, and he is forbidden from divorcing her as long as he lives.
Deu 22:20  “But if the charge is substantiated that evidence for the girl’s virginity could not be found;
Deu 22:21  then they are to lead the girl to the door of her father’s house, and the men of her town will stone her to death, because she has committed in Isra’el the disgraceful act of being a prostitute while still in her father’s house. In this way you will put an end to such wickedness among you.

In all of God’s Torah it just took one example of God’ children obeying the punishment determined and wickedness was ended.

When I was in Cairo I noted several men surrounding the back tire of a car. I wondered if they were changing the tire. Yet a boy was held with his hand being laid very flat. Then the car tire was being backed over that one hand. He would be the example of what it meant not to steal. His hand caused him his problem and he would be reminded of that all the days of his life. His friends would not even think of stealing. It was a community that took quick action among themselves because they obeyed The Torah, literally.

Islam follows The Torah and The Koran…(words of Mohammad.) When in Cairo in 2000, I could scream out and the people on the street would stop to see who pinched. My friend Barb and I did stop and declare pinches; but no one was found out. Following Torah leads to safety on streets. It leads to safety in businesses from shoplifting. It leads to businesses staying in business.

Gen 24:64  Rivkah too looked up; and when she saw Yitz’chak, she quickly dismounted the camel.
Gen 24:65  She said to the servant, “Who is this man walking in the field to meet us?” When the servant replied, “It’s my master,” she took her veil and covered herself.

Mat 27:51  At that moment the parokhet in the Temple was ripped in two from top to bottom; and there was an earthquake, with rocks splitting apart.

Mat 27:59  Yosef took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen sheet

Luk 24:12  However, Kefa got up and ran to the tomb. Stooping down, he saw only the burial cloths and went home wondering what had happened.

BEFORE THE FALL
Gen 2:24  This is why a man is to leave his father and mother and stick with his wife, and they are to be one flesh.
Gen 2:25  They were both naked, the man and his wife, and they were not ashamed.

AFTER RESURRECTION

Yeshua stood naked before The Father. (No more shame!)

The Act o f Marriage

Gen 29:23  In the evening he took Le’ah his daughter and brought her to Ya`akov, and he went in and slept with her.

Gen 29:30  So not only did Ya`akov go in and sleep with Rachel, but he also loved Rachel more than Le’ah. Then he served Lavan another seven years.

The Act of Marriage between God and his Bride is embraced 7000 years. The patterns seen in the patriarch’s lives is key to understanding our part in a successful marriage with God.

Yeshua Jesus is our Groom. It is The Father that brings the Bride to the Groom. We are to be as virgins having no other gods before us. Even our children can be taken as we make them a god in our lives.

The Act of Marriage is a covenant set up by God of which He can NOT cancel. We dare not cancel our marriage with either of our first loves.

Yeshua is our first love.
Our first husband or first wife is always our first love.

Purification After Childbirth
Lev 12:1  Adonai said to Moshe,
Lev 12:2  “Tell the people of Isra’el: ‘If a woman conceives and gives birth to a boy, she will be unclean for seven days with the same uncleanness as in niddah, when she is having her menstrual period.
Lev 12:3  On the eighth day, the baby’s foreskin is to be circumcised.

This shows a 7000-year old unclean earth. On the 8000th year, if we circumcise ourselves to God’s ways, we enter a new dwelling naked before God.

Lev 13:6  On the seventh day the cohen is to examine him again, and if the sore has faded and hasn’t spread on the skin, then the cohen is to declare him clean—it is only a scab, so he is to wash his clothes and be clean.

We must Enter Clean with Yeshua’ blood covering us in white.

Lev 16:3  “Here is how Aharon is to enter the Holy Place: with a young bull as a sin offering and a ram as a burnt offering.
Lev 16:4  He is to put on the holy linen tunic, have the linen shorts next to his bare flesh, have the linen sash wrapped around him, and be wearing the linen turban—they are the holy garments. He is to bathe his body in water and put them on.

Lev 16:29  “It is to be a permanent regulation for you that on the tenth day of the seventh month you are to deny yourselves and not do any kind of work, both the citizen and the foreigner living with you.
Lev 16:30  For on this day, atonement will be made for you to purify you; you will be clean before Adonai from all your sins.

Lev 16:31  It is a Shabbat of complete rest for you, and you are to deny yourselves. “This is a permanent regulation.

Yeshua Jesus takes the place of The Father at this earth’s wedding. He wears not Roman garments, but priestly garments.

Lev 16:32  The cohen anointed and consecrated to be cohen in his father’s place will make the atonement; he will put on the linen garments, the holy garments;

Yeshua was wrapped in swaddling clothes (priestly linen) at his birth. He wore priestly garments as a Pharisee. They wrapped again in linen when buried. He alone makes atonement in the the Holy Place for all of us.

Lev 16:33  he (Yeshua Jesus) will make atonement for the Especially Holy Place; he will make atonement for the tent of meeting and the altar; and he will make atonement for the cohanim and for all the people of the community.

Lev 16:34  This is a permanent regulation for you, to make atonement for the people of Isra’el because of all their sins once a year.” Moshe did as Adonai had ordered him.

Is 2023 just another Dress Rehearsal? Or is September 16, 2023 Rosh Hoshannah ‘The Day’ of ‘calling out’? It is year One which could be year 50 on the Hebrew calendar. If this is a rehearsal, then God has seen our hearts as being pure before him.

Yet, there is one day that Rosh Hoshannah will hear those trumpets calling us out of this earth and we will stand naked with no works attached to us as we call upon the cloth stained with blood. That cloth of blood is the ‘second’ witness of our salvation. We can live out The Torah, but we must recogize Yeshua presented to us as The Blood of God the Most High.

God come in the flesh wrapped in a ‘second’ witness of fabric from The Temple priests at that time. Mary’s family was in direct lineage to the priesthood as was John the Baptist, son of Zechariah, the Levite priest. Mary and Elizabeth were first cousins. Elizabeth and Mary were of priestly lineage, too.

John was chased down because of his birth right so his mother raised him in the desert. Yeshua was considered a bastard child without a real earthly father. Joseph was going to listen to Moses and hand her ‘a get’ to cancel their engagement until a messenger angel stopped him. There was no ‘cloth’ to be a witness. A ‘get’ could have been ordered. Was it her death sentence? Yes! She would have been considered a whore in her father’s house.

Laws Against Eating Blood
Lev 17:10  When someone from the community of Isra’el or one of the foreigners living with you eats any kind of blood, I will set myself against that person who eats blood and cut him off from his people.
Lev 17:11  For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for yourselves; for it is the blood that makes atonement because of the life.’
Lev 17:12  This is why I told the people of Isra’el, ‘None of you is to eat blood, nor is any foreigner living with you to eat blood.’
Lev 17:13  “When someone from the community of Isra’el or one of the foreigners living with you hunts and catches game, whether animal or bird that may be eaten, he is to pour out its blood and cover it with earth.

Miscellaneous Laws
Deu 23:15  For Adonai your God moves about in your camp to rescue you and to hand over your enemies to you. Therefore your camp must be a holy place. [Adonai] should not see anything indecent among you, or he will turn away from you.

Deu 23:18  “No woman of Isra’el is to engage in ritual prostitution, and no man of Isra’el is to engage in ritual homosexual prostitution.

Deu 23:19  Nothing earned through heterosexual or homosexual prostitution is to be brought into the house of Adonai your God in fulfillment of any vow, for both of these are abhorrent to Adonai your God.

Illicent money is not welcomed.

Uncleanness in the Camp
Deu 23:9  The third generation of children born to them may enter the assembly of Adonai.
Deu 23:10  “When you are in camp, at war with your enemies, you are to guard yourself against anything bad.

Deu 23:11  If there is a man among you who is unclean because of a nocturnal emission, he is to go outside the camp; he is not to enter the camp.
Deu 23:12  When evening arrives he is to bathe himself in water, and after sunset he may enter the camp.

Let’s now look at Isaiah 54:1-10 which is part of Parshah Ki Tetze.

The Eternal Covenant of Peace
Isa 54:1  “Sing, barren woman who has never had a child! Burst into song, shout for joy, you who have never been in labor! For the deserted wife will have more children than the woman who is living with her husband,” says Adonai.

We see Leah having children before Rachel because she was not loved by her husband. In the end, Ya’cov will love her more as she loves ADONAI whereas Rachel remained a complainer to God.

Isa 54:2  Enlarge the space for your tent, extend the curtains of your dwelling; do not hold back, lengthen your cords, make your tent pegs firm.
Isa 54:3  For you will spread out to the right and the left, your descendants will possess the nations and inhabit the desolated cities.
Isa 54:4  Don’t be afraid, for you won’t be ashamed; don’t be discouraged, for you won’t be disgraced. You will forget the shame of your youth, no longer remember the dishonor of being widowed.
Isa 54:5  For your husband is your Maker, Adonai-Tzva’ot is his name. The Holy One of Isra’el is your Redeemer. He will be called the God of all the earth.
Isa 54:6  For Adonai has called you back like a wife abandoned and grief-stricken; “A wife married in her youth cannot be rejected,” says your God.
Isa 54:7  “Briefly I abandoned you, but with great compassion I am taking you back.
Isa 54:8  I was angry for a moment and hid my face from you; but with everlasting grace I will have compassion on you,” says Adonai your Redeemer.
Isa 54:9  “For me this is like Noach’s flood. Just as I swore that no flood like Noach’s would ever again cover the earth, so now I swear that never again will I be angry with you or rebuke you.
Isa 54:10  For the mountains may leave and the hills be removed, but my grace will never leave you, and my covenant of peace will not be removed,” says Adonai, who has compassion on you.
Isa 54:11  “Storm-ravaged [city], unconsoled, I will set your stones in the finest way, lay your foundations with sapphires,
Isa 54:12  make your windows shine with rubies, your gates with garnet, your walls with gemstones.
Isa 54:13  All your children will be taught by Adonai; your children will have great peace.
Isa 54:14  In righteousness you will be established, far from oppression, with nothing to fear; far from ruin, for it will not come near you.
Isa 54:15  Any alliance that forms against you will not be my doing; whoever tries to form such an alliance will fall because of you.
Isa 54:16  It is I who created the craftsman who blows on the coals and forges weapons suited to their purpose; I also created the destroyer to work havoc.
Isa 54:17  No weapon made will prevail against you. In court you will refute every accusation. The servants of Adonai inherit all this; the reward for their righteousness is from me,” says Adonai.

With all of these inheritances from God sustaining us how can we ever walk away from our marriages. When we walk away from our spouse, we walk away from God. He wants His Holiness undefiled, and it begins with us honoring the covenant of marriage no matter what season of life we are in.

Pro 15:20  A wise son is a joy to his father, and only a fool despises his mother.

Pro 15:25  Adonai will pull down the houses of the proud, but preserves intact the widow’s boundaries.

Pro 15:29  Adonai is far from the wicked, but he listens to the prayer of the righteous.

Pro 15:33  The discipline of wisdom is fear of Adonai, so before being honored, a person must be humble.

Deu 22:20  “But if the charge is substantiated that evidence for the girl’s virginity could not be found;
Deu 22:21  then they are to lead the girl to the door of her father’s house, and the men of her town will stone her to death, because she has committed in Isra’el the disgraceful act of being a prostitute while still in her father’s house. In this way you will put an end to such wickedness among you.

How many lives would be saved had America not turned away from these instructions. The Church has much guilt to bear in turning away from full Torah.

We had a foreign exchange student from Spain many years ago. He did not see why taking a girl’s virginity from her was such a serious issue. He wanted to experience his first sex in America. He ended his staying with us by complaining he was too far out in the country. That ended our responsibility for him.

Deu 22:22  “If a man is found sleeping with a woman who has a husband, both of them must die—the man who went to bed with the woman and the woman too. In this way you will expel such wickedness from Isra’el.

Tell your parents about a sexual assult is key…..’yelling out’ means your very life.

This girl is in town and did not yell out where other people could hear her….

Deuteronomy 22:23  “If a girl who is a virgin is engaged to a man, and another man comes upon her in the town and has sexual relations with her;

Deu 22:24  you are to bring them both out to the gate of the city and stone them to death—the girl because she didn’t cry out for help, there in the city, and the man because he has humiliated his neighbor’s wife. In this way you will put an end to such wickedness among you.

This girl is in the country with no one to hear her cry….

Deu 22:25  “But if the man comes upon the engaged girl out in the countryside, and the man grabs her and has sexual relations with her, then only the man who had intercourse with her is to die.

Deu 22:26  You will do nothing to the girl, because she has done nothing deserving of death. The situation is like the case of the man who attacks his neighbor and kills him.
Deu 22:27  For he found her in the countryside, and the engaged girl cried out, but there was no one to save her.

The virgin girl is cooperating – They are to be married! $80,000 to the father…

Deu 22:28  “If a man comes upon a girl who is a virgin but who is not engaged, and he grabs her and has sexual relations with her, and they are caught in the act,
Deu 22:29  then the man who had intercourse with her must give to the girl’s father one-and-a-quarter pounds of silver shekels, and she will become his wife, because he humiliated her; he may not divorce her as long as he lives.

How many mothers raising their babies alone would now find themselves married. How many abortions would be stopped if boys were told they are to be a father?
How many men would not be charged with rape and land in prison if Full Torah was applied.

Oh but, our daughter is too young!!!!
Oh, let’s just yell rape…my daughter or my son need to go to college.
Oh, we don’t like his family background…
Oh, the children hate their parent’s divorce so will not marry themselves, so they won’t end that way. By the time the ‘second’ baby arrives, and the father has been accused of false rape, he does not want anything to do with the accusing family. All the family is humiliated. No to marriage covenants is “Doing what is right in our own eyes.” We add to and take away from God’s words without even thinking about it.

Women want to be honored and led.

The Cup of Wrath on our earth could be called, The Breeder’s Cup….it is running over!
