The CARMEL ALERT – May 29th 2015
.; A compilation of news reports from the past week for the information of those committed to ..praying .. for the restoration of Israel
David’s Comment: Human Rights, Gay Rights – What About God’s Rights ?
Exodus 20:2 I am the LORD thy God, ………….. Exodus 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
All we seem to hear about these days is human rights, gay rights, equal rights and all kinds of other rights. However I never hear anybody talking about God’s rights. YHVH or the God of Israel is the Creator of the universe. In Hebrew He is also called El Elyon, the Most High God. He holds everything that exists in His hands, and He has the power to preserve life in the universe or to bring it to a sudden end if He so chooses. And He declares to us in His Word that He is a jealous God. He is jealous for an intimate relationship with every human being He has ever created and He is jealous for our love and attention.
As I wrote in a comment a few weeks back, in today’s world the vast majority of YHVH’s sons and daughters worship everything else except the only One who is worthy to be worshipped. It seems that everything else has rights, but surely El Elyon or the Most High God, has some rights too …….
He has a right to be acknowledged as the Creator of the Universe – the Jewish people have known this for almost 4000 years, but most of the other nations still dont know
He has a right to be honoured, reveranced and worshipped as the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords
And He has a right to be obeyed and feared if one chooses not to obey Him – perhaps someone should inform the people of Ireland and all of the other nations that have accepted same sex marriage, when God calls it an abomination. Add to that the cold blooded murder of millions of unborn babies, the rampant immorality and rebellion, what amazes me is that God is still witholding His wrath …… but not for much longer !
As the God of Israel, YHVH has the right to decide who can live in His Land. He promised the land of Israel to Abraham and his descendants through the line of Isaac & Jacob. However today most of the world and much of the Church who claims to worship El Elyon, deny the Jewish peoples right to the land that they were promised.
My question to end this week’s comment is ……. How much patience does YHVH have left before He really makes the heat of His wrath felt ? How much longer will He allow His sons and daughters to ignore Him, legalise the activities He calls an abomination, and give their worship to imposter gods who create nothing but deception ?
Surely the answer to the question is ……… Not very much longer !!!
God will exercise His right to decide when that will be
The Lord bless you as you bless Israel by standing in defense of her right to exist in the land promised to the Jewish people by the God of Israel. Please pray that
Israel will turn back to their God. Do not be silent at this most strategic time, but please share this.. with all of your fellow Christians, share it with your pastors, and
with anyone you have a chance to speak to. Please also pray for a major breakthrough to the Muslim world, and remember to pray for all of the soldiers in the IDF. Even though they are not aware of it, they are defending and fighting for the soon coming of the Messiah and the Kingdom of God.
S habbat Shalom …… David & Josie
THIS WEEKS NEWS REPORTS
1. Israelis Enjoyed Nature Parks & Beaches During the Shavuot Festival Weekend Ynet News May 25th
As temperatures continue to rise, Israelis took advantage of the Shavuot holiday to cool off in rivers and streams, with some 100,000 visitors arriving at Israel’s national parks and nature reserves on Sunday, 24 May, 2015. A total of 200,000 visitors went out to celebrate the holiday in nature over the weekend. Shavuot, a holiday celebrating the Israelites receiving the Torah from God at Mount Sinai, is strongly connected to water, presumably because the Torah is often likened to water. In many Israeli cities, children gathered for impromptu water-gun and water-balloon wars in the streets, public squares and parks. Another way to celebrate is taking a water hike along Israel’s rivers. Many visitors over the weekend headed out to the Hermon Stream (Banias), Nahal Ayun, Tel Dan, and Majrase nature reserves, as well as the beaches of Palmachim, Beit Yanai and Ashkelon. Some 120,000 spent the long weekend on the shores of the Kinneret and resorts along the banks of the lake were at full capacity.
2. Israeli Preparing for the Next Gaza War Arutz 7 May 25th
The IDF and local Regional Councils are already preparing residents of the Gaza Belt area for another war, and have readied an evacuation plan following the mass exodus from the area during last summer’s Operation Protective Edge, according to a weekend report. The Gaza Belt was hit hardest by Hamas rocket and mortar fire, sparking thousands to flee their homes. At the height of the war, up to 80% of Gaza Belt community families had fled inland due to the ongoing barrage, sparking concerns over the region’s future. To solve this, the IDF has prepared an evacuation plan, code-named as “Safe Distance.” The plan covers all communities within 4.3 miles of the Gaza border. It includes evacuating communities to areas agreed upon in advance, which means that each locality would know where to go and who will be hosting them. Preparatory communication between communities will take place after the distribution of evacuation maps, which are currently underway. The IDF’s upper military echelon will be tasked with announcing the implementation of “Safe Distance” in the event of an emergency. The program will also provide the security system and the cabinet stamina for a longer conflict without casualties on the home front. Pray for the ongoing protection of Israel’s southern border communities against terrorist attacks, kidnappings and rocket fire.
3. Iran: 80,000 Missiles Pointed at Tel Aviv Arutz 7 News May 25th
According to a top Iranian advisor, Tehran has “tens of thousands” of missiles pointed at Israel, and will not hesitate to use them. Yahya Rahim Zafabi, a top advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, said the tens of thousands of missiles will “sow the seeds of destruction in Israel” if they are to be fired. “The Zionists and the Americans know what the powers of Iran and Hezbollah are,” he added. “They know that over 80,000 missiles are pointed at Tel Aviv and Haifa.” Zafabi was apparently responding to remarks made this week by Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon, who said Israel “will not allow for the opening of another war front against Israel. We will act strongly against those who act against us or plans to act against us. We will reach their bases, damage them, and destroy their weapons.” Ya’alon emphasized that Iran is directly involved in all conflicts in the Middle East. “Iran’s bloody regime spreads terror and destruction throughout the entire area, and it expresses loudly its desire to destroy Israel. Unfortunately, the West is ready to make a deal with Iran on its nuclear program, which will shield Tehran from criticism.” Pray that any & every missile fired from Iran at Israel will fall back into Iranian cities
4. Threat to Israel Increases on Northern Border ICEJ News May 26th
Rebel factions in southern Syria, operating near the Israeli border, recently showed international media outlets tunnels they had built with assistance from the Islamist terror militia Hamas which rules the Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, the Iranian-backed Lebanese Shi’ite terror militia Hezbollah continued to push back forces of the Al-Nusra Front, al-Qaida’s Syrian franchise, from positions in Syria’s southwestern Quinetra province, near the Israeli-Lebanese-Syrian border area. The maneuvers come amidst threatening statements by Hezbollah that it continues to plan offensive actions against Israel despite being fully engaged in Syria’s multifaceted conflict. In related news, Turkey made an initial move towards becoming physically involved in the Syrian conflict over the weekend by signing a tentative agreement with the US to cooperate in providing air support to rebel groups fighting the Assad regime. Please pray that Israel will succeed to repel any attack by ISIL or the Syrian rebels from the north
5. European Committee Condemns Palestinian Aurthority Arutz 7
Five European MPs from three separate parliaments have condemned the Palestinian Authority (PA), following a special report released by the Palestinian Media Watch on Monday 25 May, 2015, proving that the PA is still paying salaries to terrorists and their families. “British taxpayers will be appalled to discover that the Palestinian Authority is handing their hard-earned money to convicted Palestinian terrorists,” a joint statement released from British MPs Guto Bebb, James Morris and Andrew Percy states. “The PA should be strongly condemned for deceiving well-intentioned donor countries into thinking that it had ended this shocking practice. The British Government must seriously reconsider its provision of aid to the PA’s general budget until it ceases this abhorrent practice of financially rewarding and providing incentives to terrorism,” they added. “It is important that the sowing of hatred is stopped. We still find in the official Palestinian media numerous antisemitic statements, the glorification of violence and hatred, and honoring terrorists,” Member of Dutch Parliament, C.G. van der Staaij said. “I have read the reports carefully. It should not be possible for anti-democratic terror organizations to murder Jews or Christians in the name of their religion,” Member of German Parliament, Albert Weiler, added. “We must fight this strongly. And the whole world should be doing it together.” Pray for the ongoing exposure of the misuse of funds donated by the West and for stronger measures on the part of these nations to end terrorist supporting provisions to the Palestinian Authority.
6. Israel Warns Hamas of Heavy Price if Rocket Fire Continues Times of Israel News May 27th
Israel’s Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon delivered a stern warning to Hamas on Wednesday morning following a rocket attack on the south the night before. Hamas, he said, must rein in any attempts by factions in Gaza to attack Israel, or “pay a heavy price.” Earlier, Israeli Air Force jets bombed four targets in the Gaza Strip in response to the rocket, which hit near near the town of Gan Yavne, outside Ashdod, causing neither casualties nor damage. The army alleged that it was fired by Islamic Jihad activists due to an internal dispute in the organization. “Israel has no intention of ignoring attacks on its citizens like the one carried out last night by Islamic Jihad forces,” Ya’alon said in a statement. “We will not abide any threat on the residents of the south. If it isn’t quiet in Israel, the Gaza Strip will pay a heavy price.” “I would not advise anyone to test us,” he cautioned, directly threatening the Hamas government of Gaza. “We see Hamas as responsible for what happens in the Gaza Strip. It would be better for Hamas to rein in all attempts to fire at Israel and provocations. Otherwise we will have no choice but to respond with even greater force.” There were no immediate reports of casualties from the Israeli bombardments across the Palestinian coastal enclave.
The IDF said in a statement that it targeted four “terror infrastructure” sites in the southern Gaza Strip in response to the rocket fire at southern Israel on Tuesday evening. The military said it confirmed direct hits. “The reality that Hamas’s territory is used as a staging ground to attack Israel is unacceptable and intolerable and will bear consequences,” military spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Peter Lerner said in a statement overnight. The planes targeted training camps belonging to the Islamic Jihad in Rafah, Khan Yunis and Gaza City, witnesses in the Strip said. A Hamas official said the group was working to calm the situation with rival Palestinian groups in the Gaza Strip, Israel Radio reported.
Although Hamas did not take credit for the rocket fire, and sources in the Gaza Strip said the rocket was likely fired by members of the Islamic Jihad, Israel has consistently maintained that Hamas is responsible for all attacks emanating from the Gaza Strip. The rocket fired from the Gaza Strip hit southern Israel on Tuesday night, shortly after 9 p.m., as alarms blared across the region, the army said. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage from the rocket. Please pray that the Israel / Gaza border returns to peace and quiet
7. The FIFA Files Israel Today News May 28th
It seems that every time soccer’s int’l governing body, FIFA, entertains hostility toward Israel, scandal befalls the organization. In October 2011, Jack Warner resigned as vice-president of FIFA, the governing body of international soccer, after being accused of bribing members of the Caribbean football union in an effort to elect Mohamed Bin Hamman of Qatar as FIFA’s next president. Commenting on these allegations, Warner blamed Zionism, among other things, for his downfall. “I will talk about the Zionism, which probably is the most important reason why this acrid attack on Bin Hamman and me was mounted” he said. This bizarre statement was brushed off as nonsense. On Wednesday, seven FIFA officials were arrested at their hotel in Zurich. The arrests were made at the request of the US Department of Justice. This new scandal exploded just as FIFA was discussing a PLO request to suspend Israel from the organization. In April, Jibril Rajoub, head of Palestinian Football Association, appealed for the third time to bar Israel from FIFA. Twice before, current president Sepp Blatter has rejected the appeal. This latest appeal has created enough commotion to get Prime Minister Netanyahu involved. Rajoub charge Israel using the typical slurs that evil Israel is imposing travel restrictions on Palestinian football players and officials, and its major football clubs are racist.
The motion to suspend Israel requires support from two-thirds of the 209 delegates. If the motion passes, Israel will become the only national team to be barred from FIFA, aside from South Africa’s temporary suspension from 1964-1992. Such an outcome could literally destroy Israeli football (soccer). Aware of the implications, on May 19, Netanyahu met with a sympathetic Blatter I’m very happy about what Prime Minister Netanyahu has said … I’m sure we will find a solution.” In timing that couldn’t have been more beneficial for Israel, just as pressure was mounting on FIFA like never before to ban Israel, seven of the organization’s top officials have been arrested for corruption. The effect of the scandal was felt immediately. Rajoub was adamant that the vote against Israel, scheduled for May 29, would not be derailed by the corruption investigation. But Israel Football Association chairman Ofer Eini said before leaving for Zurich that he is “an optimistic man.” Lets pray that the attempt to have Israel ejected from FIFA will backfire on the so called Palestinians.
