17 Iyar – Counting The Omer

What does a day bring?

It brings men into the world and it shows men leaving this world. On Iyyar a ‘madman’ left this world by his own hands. Hitler committed suicide this day along with his new wife. If men can’t have the world as they desire it then they would rather go into the next.

In the future book, Yood of Elohim, I have been keeping a calendar for several years. This calendar has events that happen in the world, and unfortunately, it seems bad news makes the news. But, in this bad news there is the, “Hands of God.” This is a study that I don’t think has been done. This study is looking to see if God is working in the lives of men. If we aren’t in-tune with God then we just seem to go about our every day of business and don’t see Him. But, people do report that they see Him….Yes, in answered prayer. Prayers are not always answered in how we might think.

The best way I see God is when I read God’s scripture and what He says comes true. There are cursings for disobedience and there are blessings for obedience. I don’t know what else to say because it is the scriptures in your heart that reveals it to you. If you don’t know God’s word, then you don’t see His words come alive.

Today is the day Hitler committed suicide, 17 Iyyar.

Today is also the day I lost a wonderful brother-in-law. He was the opposite of Hitler. He used his Chiropractic skills in helping others live their lives more abundantly. He had kind hands that knew what to do to help keep our bodies healing forces flowing. His blood flow stopped last night at 12:09 am. He had family at his bedside comforting him and comforting themselves in letting him go. His grandchildren were named after him. William (Will) will remember his grandpa as one who gave pony rides, horse cart rides, boat rides, fishing and many other sports things that keep boys loving God’s outdoors. Perhaps my soul needs to pay tribute to a brother-in-law that respected me as a sister. I love you Dr. Bill. Now you are in the hands of our spiritual doctor and now you are cancer free.

God's Wonders — God’s Wonders – Similar but different.

There is no similarity between these two men except life was a vapor for each. One gave life and the other took countless lives. A madman can only do what Hitler did. To have the power to convince the world to help him could only be Satanic. God was not in that plan. God’s plan was for others to see who Messiah really was come in the flesh. Yeshua (Jesus) was God in the flesh. He is the one that allowed others to kill him…and it was NOT to blame them because He even ask the Father to ‘forgive’ them because they did NOT know what they were doing. He had to do it. He had to come at the time that this type of death was common in execution..hanging on a stake (cross) that allowed suffering.

Iyyar 17 was a full moon. Hitler hid in a secured room so no one could stop his plans of death. Suicide is a cowards way out. Hitler made a pact with his officers and they followed him to the end of even killing themselves. What torture did they think was going to happen to them that they could not endure? Evidently, they didn’t want to happen to them what they did to others. The Geneva Convention does not allow torture as being a part of execution. So then, why did they kill themselves? Did they have secrets they didn’t want others to know about? Would others make it through who could start the new era they had dreamed of? No matter…this madman is no longer worth talking about.

What is worth discussing is what else happened on 17 Iyyar. My calendar is not to be used as a horoscope, but a tool to see the madness of goodness of men.

I like to give witness to how men lived their lives. How we live our lives is more important than being born into goodness. When we struggle, we turn to evil or we turn to God. Turning to God has more rewards because He is the one that cares about us. He did not plan for any human being to suffer beyond what they could bear. There is always a way out and believe me, He is it.

Yes, we are allowed to seek after our own ways which can result in us falling perhaps more than we thought…but only so we will RETURN to Him. God uses the word ‘return’, thus He knows our human nature is lead astray. He desires our RETURN…just like the story of the prodigal son. All was still freely his on his return. We walk away…not God.

So what else happened on my calendar and the world’s calendar?

1911 Standard Oil owned by John Rockefeller dissolved. The 1890 Sherman Act, anti-trust broke up conglomerates and free enterprise now could work. He had built an empire.

1937 Saddam Hussein was born. He would try to assassinate Prime Minister in 1957. He attended Law School 1962-63. 1963 joined Ba’the..in prison for 2 years. After his release his support had grown. He became Prime Minister as a Ba’the until his death in 2006 when America dug him out of a hole in the ground and later executed him for war crimes.

When I was in Cairo Egypt in 2000 I noticed that those being educated were lawyers. It does seem right that you would like to know how far you could take the law. And, you will want to know the laws of Sharia as a Muslims if you want to overturn the world’s laws.

1945 Hitler commits suicide with his groupies. Hitler was in prison and wrote Mein Kampf, My Struggle (in German). It laid out his Nazi plan with Communism and Judaism as the two evils of the world. It was given to all he met and every soldier. Words are powerful.

Recap so far. 1911 – 1945 the world is dealing with powerful men who would like to rule the world.

What was their end…Dissolved!

Do we remember them? Yes!

Do we remember them as heroes? Some would say, “yes” to John D Rockefeller. Why would we say, ‘Yes’ to a man that was the cause of the ‘The Great Depression’? Yes, he built America but he also shut down steel plants to show who was in charge. He would not provide kerosene to his competitors. The buildings with these competitive men’s names on them are only there because they then competed to put their monuments up. If you create foundations, you become a hero and they put your name on buildings. Carnegie Hall is another example. Unless we know the story and the truth of their lives, then we won’t become fools as we stand in ‘awe’ of them.

Let’s repeat the question…Do we remember them as Heroes? NO…a BIG BIG sounding, NO…none of them.

Hitler died, Hussein born, Rockefeller dissolved…. Hmm…let’s continue…

There we have it…. What does my calendar share?

When I first looked at it today I thought oh no….bad day.

But, bad days are to be turned into good.

Who will carry us on His shoulders? Who will carry the government on His shoulders?

Today is about dominion over the earth. Men desire to have dominion and God desired for them to have dominion over the earth without hurting it. They were not given dominion over the universe..but just the earth.

So what type of dominion are men to have over the earth? God says to first love the Lord your God with all your heart soul and mind and then to love your neighbor as yourself.

Men can start well….but how do they end?

We have Britain celebrating, Empire Day today. That title alone says it all. I don’t think it’s a title that acknowledges our Creator who gave it to them. Britain is also in trouble as a nation today and has many threats bombarding her…as does the United States.

Germany is trying to admit her sins with the holocaust and must get completely out of denial. It is when we face our guilt that we can be free.

Henry Ford built the Model A (1903-1904) They had a Model N etc. Then it was the Model T that could overcome the bumps in the road and could haul things in the mud of Germany. 24 Iyyar, May 26, 1927 he rolled the 15th million care off the production line. It was his greatest pride. But his son, Edsel, said no as there needed to be an update… You can see he started the Edsel car company without his father.

Henry Ford received the highest medal of accomplishment for a citizen from the Nazi Third Reich. He ran printing presses and told people why the Jew was the world’s problem. He lost his only son to cancer and was heart broken they did not have a better relationship.

I don’t mean to jump ahead, but as I looked up the date on the Model T I just saw that in one week we’ll be looking at the day JP Morgan died. It was 24 Iyyar, but in 1913. Ford Produces the 15 millionth Model T on JP Morgan death anniversary….24 Iyyar. He died on 39 Day of counting the Omer. JP bought Carnegie steel for $493 million and which gave him control of one-third of the Railroads in America. These men have interesting lives as their competition between each other even causes WW I. It was an amazing time in history and we need to learn from it.

Iyyar was a full moon for each of these…nothing will be hidden….

John D Rockefeller died with millions and built his own memorials.

Hitler killed millions, died a failure and only has memorials of holocaust disgust for him.

Saddam Hussein killed thousands, was executed and has no memorials.

F5 Tornadoes spawned at least 74 tornadoes that removed 7 churches in Oklahoma

Japan had a 8.2 earthquake that shook.

Empire Day!

Men desire empires but leave memorials that speak of their sins as they strove to be gods.

Churches are removed….not to my surprise. Where are the synagogues? Hmm…who removed them?

Today is 17 Iyyar and the 32 Day of the Counting of the Omer. Let me share a little as we close today being reminded of humans in history that tested God.

Counting The Omer, A Daily Devotional Toward Shavuot by William Mark Huey. It is outstanding!

Yesterday, 16 Iyyar 16 was 31 Day of Counting the Omer the chapter was titled, “Testing God.”

I agree with him in that humans today are not much different than they were coming out of Egypt. The Israelites were brought out with a ‘heavy’ hand meaning they witnessed many miracles in God accomplishing their freedom. The reading and discussion was based on Psalm 78:17-31. “….He rained down manna upon them to eat and gave them food from heaven. Man did eat the bread of angels; He sent them food in abundance…..”

It is said the manna was like ‘coriander seed’ and they made their breads with it. The wording expressed here is that man was eating what the angels ate…bread from heaven.

Man is now rejecting this bread and wanting meat. The east wind and the south wind gathered huge numbers of birds and God dropped them right on their laps (no bow needed). Psalm 78:18a KJV “And they tempted God in their heart by asking meat for their lust.”

Lust…seeking something that is not necessary… That is my quick thought on lust. They lusted which then lead to contempt of God. God heard them cry for water… and it was with contempt because they were sassy..does God bring us out in the desert to kill us and our children?

The Hebrew verb nasah is used thirty-six times in the form of God testing man. The first time is with Abraham where He tests nasah Abraham’s faith with his only son Isaac on Mt. Moriah. Abraham passed the test and many other did as we see a short list of them in Hebrews 13.

Exodus 15:25-26 “And He said, “If you will give earnest heed to the voice of the LORD your God, and do what is right in His sight, and give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians; for I, the LORD, am your healer.”

“The pattern of God testing His people continues when the gift of manna is used by Him, to see if His people will be obedient.”

As a parent we may be more lenient when the first test is given and failed. But when your child continues to be in contempt of the test…you issue stronger judgments. God does the same with His children.

This was outstanding and encouraged me very much in understanding how God is our Father and loves us. He closes with this statement. “Today, I am reminded of how our simple desire to Count the Omer in obedience is such a blessing to Him. He sees our hearts and our desire to please Him…….it blesses me to know that He is smiling down upon us, with every intention to pour out even more gifts from above!”

Day Thirty-Two of Counting Omer, “Born Again”

Psalms 78:32-39 “In spite of all this they still sinned and did not believe in His wonderful works. So He brought their days to an end in futility and their years in sudden terror. When He killed them, then they sought Him, and returned and searched diligently for God; and they remembered that God was their rock, and the Most High God their Redeemer. But they deceived Him with their mouth and lied to Him with their tongue. For their heart was not steadfast toward Him, nor were they faithful in His covenant….”

John’s Gospel tells us that the Divine Mandate for salvation is accomplished now through Messiah Yeshua (Jesus) since He has come. Colossians 1:26-28 states only a complete transformation of the heart and mind – a total change – will enact His salvation. We are reminded that man’s life is but a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. Our lives should be that we say, “If the Lord wills” then we will do such and such.

Day Thirty-Two, 17 Iyyar closes again with being blessed by being in God’s Word as we Count the days of the Omer and, “As a results, I firmly believe He is pouring our His blessings for my obedience, resulting in greater understanding and discernment. I am truly thankful that I am one who has been forgiven by Him, am born again, and is changed so that I can exist forever in His presence!”
