God Redeemer and Savior

Compiled July 30 2015 from e-sword using Complete Jewish Bible version.

Psa 78:34 CJB) When he brought death among them, they would seek him; they would repent and seek God eagerly,

(Psa 78:35 CJB) remembering that God was their Rock, El `Elyon their Redeemer.

(Isa 47:4 CJB) Our Redeemer! Adonai-Tzva’ot is his name, the Holy One of Isra’el!

(Isa 44:6 CJB) Thus says Adonai, Isra’el’s King and Redeemer, Adonai-Tzva’ot: “I am the first, and I am the last; besides me there is no God.

(Isa 43:3 CJB) For I am Adonai, your God, the Holy One of Isra’el, your Savior — I have given Egypt as your ransom, Ethiopia and S’va for you.

(Isa 43:4 CJB) Because I regard you as valued and honored, and because I love you. For you I will give people, nations in exchange for your life.

(Isa 43:5 CJB) Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. I will bring your descendants from the east, and I will gather you from the west;

(Isa 43:6 CJB) I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ and to the south, ‘Don’t hold them back! Bring my sons from far away, and my daughters from the ends of the earth,

(Isa 43:7 CJB) everyone who bears my name, whom I created for my glory — I formed him, yes, I made him.’ “

(Isa 43:8 CJB) Bring forward the people who are blind but have eyes, also the deaf who have ears.

(Isa 43:9 CJB) All the nations are gathered together, and the peoples are assembled. Who among them can proclaim this and reveal what happened in the past? Let them bring their witnesses to justify themselves, so that others, on hearing, can say, “That’s true.”

(Isa 43:10 CJB) “You are my witnesses,” says Adonai, “and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you can know and trust me and understand that I am he — no god was produced before me, nor will any be after me.

(Isa 43:11 CJB) I, yes I, am Adonai; besides me there is no deliverer.

(Isa 45:21 CJB) Let them stand and present their case! Indeed, let them take counsel together. Who foretold this long ago, announced it in times gone by? Wasn’t it I, Adonai? There is no other God besides me, a just God and a Savior; there is none besides me.

(Isa 49:26 CJB) I will feed those oppressing you with their own flesh; they will be drunk on their own blood as with wine. Then everyone will know that I, Adonai, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Ya`akov.”

(Psa 106:21 CJB) They forgot God, who had saved them, who had done great things in Egypt,

(Luk 1:46 CJB) Then Miryam said, “My soul magnifies Adonai;

Luk 1:46-5

These verses are known in the western world as the Magnificat, from the section’s first word in the Vulgate, Jerome’s translation of the Bible into Latin around 400 C.E. They resemble Hannah’s song of praise to God at the dedication of her son Samuel (1Sa_2:1-10). Many lines are quoted exactly or approximately from the Tanakh; compare Luk_1:46 (Psa_34:2), 47 (Psa_35:9), 48 (1Sa_1:11), 49 (Psa_111:9), 50 (Psa_103:17), 51 (Psa_89:11 (Psa_89:10)), 52 (Job_12:19, Job_5:11), 53 (1Sa_2:5, Psa_107:9), 54 (Psa_98:3), 55 (Gen_17:7, Gen_17:19; Mic_7:20).

(Luk 1:47 CJB) and my spirit rejoices in God, my Savior,
